About this area

Why the chin dimples

The mentalis is the small muscle in your chin. When it's overactive, it puckers the skin as you talk or close your mouth, creating a dimpled, orange peel look and sometimes a tense, bunched chin.

A few units of wrinkle relaxer calm that muscle so the chin looks smoother and more relaxed. If your chin also needs shape or projection, dermal filler can be planned alongside.

FAQ

Common questions

What causes a dimpled chin?

An overactive mentalis muscle in the chin puckers the skin, creating an orange peel look as you talk or close your mouth.

Will it affect my smile or speech?

We use a small, careful dose placed in the chin itself, so your smile and speech stay natural.

Can I combine it with filler?

Yes. Filler adds shape or projection to the chin, while the injection smooths the dimpling. We can plan both at your consultation.

How many units does it take?

Only a few. We confirm your units at your consultation, at $10 per unit.

How long does it last?

Usually about three to four months.
