Medium depth peel
Our medium depth peel
Our medium depth peel goes deeper than a standard peel. Expect tightness, then visible peeling for about five to seven days as the outer layer sheds, revealing smoother, brighter looking skin.
It isn't right for everyone. We'll assess your skin type, history and timing at your consultation, and may recommend a few weeks of home care first.

Cleanse and prep
We cleanse and prep your skin for the treatment.
Treatment
Exfoliation, peel solution, extractions, masks or serums, depending on your treatment.
Protect
We finish with hydrating products and sunscreen, and go over your home care.
Before and aftercare
Before and after your treatment
Before
- Stop retinol, Retin A and exfoliating acids about five days before a peel, and two to three days before a facial.
- Avoid waxing, threading or laser hair removal on the face for a week before.
- Avoid sunburn, tanning and self tanner for two weeks before a peel.
- Tell us if you've taken isotretinoin (Accutane) in the last six months, or if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Reschedule if you have a cold sore, rash or infection on the face.
Aftercare
- Wear sunscreen every day and stay out of the sun, especially after a peel.
- Use the gentle cleanser and moisturizer we recommend, and skip retinol and acids until your skin feels normal.
- After a peel, let flaking or peeling come off on its own. Don't pick or scrub.
- Avoid saunas, hot tubs and heavy sweating for 24 to 48 hours after a peel.
- Mild redness after extractions or dermaplaning usually fades within a day.
Facials can be repeated every four to six weeks. Peels are often done as a series. We'll plan yours with you.

Nurse-led skin care
Facials and peels are done by Jenna, our medical aesthetician, and by Melissa Gagnon, RPN, founder of Canadian Beauty Boutique, who brings more than 15 years of experience in medical aesthetics. Facials are offered at our Brooklin clinic. AlumierMD peels are also offered with Nurse Melissa at our Etobicoke and London clinics.

Which facial is right for me?
The Bespoke Express Facial is a quick refresh. The Bespoke Luxe Facial is our most complete facial. Dermaplaning On The Glo is chosen for smoothness and glow. We'll recommend one at your visit.
Is there downtime after a facial?
Usually not. You might be a little pink for a few hours, especially after extractions.
How much downtime is there after a medium depth peel?
Expect about five to seven days of visible peeling. Plan around events and sun exposure.
Are facials offered at all three clinics?
Facials are offered at our Brooklin clinic in Whitby. AlumierMD peels are also offered at our Etobicoke and London clinics.
How much do facials cost?
