What is VAMP?
Vitamins, amino acids, minerals and PDRN
VAMP stands for Vitamins, Amino acids, Minerals and PDRN. It's a sterile topical serum made for professional use, applied right after SkinPen microneedling while your skin is most receptive. It's made by Prollenium, the Ontario company behind Revanesse dermal fillers.
We carry VAMP and VAMP Advanced, which adds hyaluronic acid and a higher amount of PDRN. We'll choose the right one for your skin at your consultation.
The key ingredient
What is PDRN?
PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) is made of small fragments of DNA taken from salmon and highly purified. It's a favourite in Korean skincare, valued for helping skin look more elastic, hydrated and even.
Your treatment always starts with SkinPen microneedling, which creates thousands of tiny channels in the skin and prompts it to make fresh collagen. VAMP is applied straight after.

We cleanse your skin and apply a topical numbing cream.

We microneedle each area with SkinPen, adjusting the depth as we go.

We apply VAMP straight away, while your skin is most receptive.

Before and after your treatment
Before
- Tell us if you have a fish or salmon allergy. VAMP isn't right for you if you do.
- Stop retinol, Retin-A and exfoliating acids like glycolic acid about five days before.
- Avoid sunburn, tanning and self tanner on the area for two weeks before.
- If you get cold sores, tell us ahead of time. Your doctor may suggest medication to take before treatment.
- Reschedule if you have active breakouts, a rash, a cold sore or an infection in the area.
- Tell us if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have taken isotretinoin (Accutane) in the last six months, or tend to form keloid scars.
- Come with clean skin and no makeup if you can.
Aftercare
- Pink to red skin, like a mild sunburn, is normal for one to three days. Some people also have light swelling or dryness.
- Skip makeup for 24 hours, and use only the gentle cleanser and moisturizer we recommend for the first few days.
- Avoid workouts, heavy sweating, saunas, hot tubs and swimming for 48 hours.
- Wait about five days before going back to retinol, acids, scrubs or other active products.
- Wear sunscreen every day and stay out of the sun. Your skin is extra sensitive while it renews.
- Let any flaking come off on its own. Don't pick or scrub.
We usually recommend 3 to 4 treatments about four weeks apart, then maintenance once or twice a year.

Common questions
Is VAMP the salmon sperm facial?
That's the nickname you'll see online. PDRN is purified DNA from salmon, refined into a clean, stable ingredient.
Is VAMP injected?
No. VAMP is a topical serum applied to the skin right after microneedling. It is never injected.
Is VAMP safe?
Side effects are usually mild and short lived, such as redness or slight swelling. Don't have VAMP if you're allergic to fish.
How is VAMP different from Purasomes?
Both finish a SkinPen treatment. Purasomes use exosomes from bovine colostrum and are chosen for glow and tone. VAMP uses salmon DNA PDRN with vitamins and minerals and is chosen for hydration and elasticity.
When will I see results?
Many people notice plumper, more hydrated looking skin within days. Texture and firmness keep improving over the weeks of your series.
