Our technology
The Cutera xeo platform
All of our laser and light treatments are done on the Cutera xeo, a medical platform that combines a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser with intense pulsed light (IPL) handpieces, including Limelight and ProWave LX, in one system. That lets us tailor every treatment to your skin and concern, and combine treatments in the same visit. The Nd:YAG laser can be used on all skin types, Fitzpatrick I to VI, and its built in cooling helps keep you comfortable.
We use the Nd:YAG laser for Laser Genesis, hair removal, veins and vascular lesions, and nail fungus. We use Limelight IPL for brown spots and redness, and ProWave LX IPL alongside the Nd:YAG for hair removal. Our 2D laser facial combines Laser Genesis and Limelight in one visit.

How it works
Free consultation
We look at your skin, talk about your goals and review your health history, medications and recent sun exposure.
Your plan
We recommend the right treatment or combination for you, how many sessions to expect and what it will cost.
Treatment
Most laser and light treatments take under an hour, with little or no downtime.
Aftercare
We'll give you care instructions for your treatment. Each treatment page also lists what to do before and after.

Before
- Avoid tanning, tanning beds and self tanner on the area for at least two weeks before.
- Tell us about all medications and supplements, especially any that make your skin more sensitive to the sun.
- Come with clean skin, with no lotion, makeup or self tanner on the area.
- Tell us if you're pregnant. We don't offer laser treatments during pregnancy.
Aftercare
- Wear sunscreen every day and avoid tanning while you heal.
- Avoid hot showers, hot tubs, saunas and strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours, depending on your treatment.
- Don't scrub, pick or exfoliate treated skin until it feels normal.
- Follow the specific aftercare for your treatment, which we'll go over with you.

Who you'll see
Nurse-led care
Your laser consultation is with Melissa Gagnon, RPN, founder of Canadian Beauty Boutique, who brings more than 15 years of experience in medical aesthetics. Melissa does your laser and IPL treatments herself, and Laser Genesis may also be done by Jenna, our medical aesthetician. Skin treatments like microneedling, facials and peels are done by Melissa or Jenna.

Which treatment is right for me?
It depends on your skin and your goals. At a free consultation, we look at your skin and recommend a plan, which may combine treatments.
Are your lasers safe for darker skin?
Our Cutera xeo has a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser that can be used on all skin types, Fitzpatrick I to VI. IPL treatments like Limelight and ProWave LX are best for lighter skin, and we'll tell you which options suit you.
Do you offer laser treatments at all three clinics?
Laser treatments are offered at our Brooklin clinic in Whitby.
Is there downtime?
Most of our laser treatments have little or no downtime. Each treatment page explains what to expect and how to care for your skin.
Can I combine treatments?
Yes. Our 2D laser facial combines Laser Genesis and Limelight IPL in one visit, and laser treatments can be planned alongside microneedling, facials and peels.
